In order to make the forum a useful place for most people there are some rules to be set:
  • Make sure that your issue isn't mentioned somewhere else before opening up a new thread. This helps people to invest their time into things not mentioned yet
  • Post in the appropriate forum so people may be able to find the thread at a later time where they actually expect it, especially if your thread happens to contain a solution / workaround for a common problem
  • Be descriptive about your problem including the subject line. If people immediately recognise what your problem is about they are able to provide more detailed answers. A description should contain what you are planning to do, what you've already tried and what the actual result is. Also a must is the environment and the BBClone version used.
  • If you post about a problem please avoid pointing to your server but use generalised urls instead, because the information may be unsuitable to be shared in public and attract spammers to your server. Also it's not possible to decide whether someone only puts up an url for promotional purposes or improving search ranking of a page.
  • In case you want to write about a solution or workaround about how to make BBClone work with a particular script you are encouraged to update our BBClone Wiki as well.
  • Please don't use promotional nick names such as your domain name, or nicks which are of an offensive nature.
  • Please refrain from opening up pointless threads and bumping them with the sole purpose of promoting an url or improving its ranking in the search engines.
  • Please don't abuse the signature as a mean to point to an affiliate program or things people in general would consider as spam. Also when pointing to an url, please make sure that its contents are suitable for minors as well.
  • Please don't abuse the private messaging system for private support requests or unsolicited advertisements.
  • Don't expect other people to immediately present an answer to your problems or to get your "homework" done for you. This is not a helpdesk and therefore requires your willingness to learn and do some research as well.
  • Links to and topics about competing projects are not welcome because such topics can easily be abused for stirring uproar (trolling).
  • Hatred speech, humiliations of any kind, racism, xenophobia and topics about religion or politics are not welcome here
  • Spam of any kind isn't welcome either (needless to say but nonetheless it should be mentioned)

The moderators reserve the right to remove or edit topics that don't meet the above criteria and ban users if necessary. There's no obligation whatsoever to inform people about these steps, but in most cases a reasoning will be given. By posting in these forums you agree to conform to these rules and respect them, including instructions given by the moderator team.
